Marcus is a Partner and the
Representative of CFAW's Switzerland office with over 30 years of experience as
a Managing Director, entrepreneur, and consultant. He is an expert in growth
strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and succession planning, with deep sector
expertise in Software, IT, and Business Services. He founded Transaction
Consulting in 2010 and, together with his team, advised the M&A departments
of blue-chip companies in Switzerland before expanding the firm into a
dedicated M&A boutique advisory firm. Marcus has a track record of more
than 30 M&A transactions, primarily in the IT, Software, Business Services,
Event Services, and Consumer sectors. He started his career as a marketing
trainee with BASF Corp. in New York City. His career subsequently included
senior roles at Roland Berger & Partner, die argonauten (now Grey Group),
InteracT!V (a firm in the TV-consumer business with presence at IFA and
Medientage München), now REPLY, in Germany, and Ticketcorner (now CTS Eventim)
in Switzerland, as well as the founding and development of multiple start-ups. Marcus
studied in Hamburg, Cologne, Barcelona, and Cambridge (USA), and received a
doctorate in economics while conducting research at the ifo-Institute in Munich
and at the MIT Sloan School of Management in the United States.
