I Help Middle-Market Business Owners
I joined CFAW as a Managing Director in 2025 after more than three decades as a senior business leader and corporate finance professional. Today, I enjoy working hands-on with middle-market companies and their owners to achieve their most important strategic, exit-planning, and M&A goals.
My approach at CFAW is defined by three unique perspectives:
- I led middle-market companies for many years and directly managed their M&A.
- I have deep corporate finance expertise gained working in fast-paced environments for large companies like UBS and Smith Barney.
- I know what it is like to be a CFAW client—the firm acted as advisor on deals for two companies I have managed.
Solutions Based on CEO Experience and Broad Corporate Finance Expertise
Before joining CFAW, I ran mid-sized manufacturing companies for almost 20 years, including through successful company sales—first to the private equity arm of a top-tier hedge fund and later to a larger competitor—and divestitures of non-strategic business lines. I work effectively with family owners, private equity investors, and corporate parents, and have managed all phases of the M&A process from up-front opportunity planning, analysis, and valuation to transaction negotiation, due diligence, and execution, and then after-deal business integration.
I began my career working for almost 15 years in corporate finance. I was first in New York City with busy investment banking groups and industry-recognized equity research teams at very large companies and later was at boutique venture capital and consulting firms. I have experience with many business sectors and operating models and with companies in all phases of the lifecycle.
A Little About Me
I graduated from Princeton University (AB) and live just outside Portland, Maine, with my wife and two daughters. For fun, you will often find me exercising, reading history and spy books, watching Broadway shows and local theater, or cheering at high school basketball games.
