Brian Ballo is a Managing Director at Corporate Finance Associates, skilled in providing later-stage private companies and small cap public companies with the full range of
investment banking, corporate finance, capital arranging (both debt and equity), sale of business, and business acquisition services.
During his 12 year investment banking career, Brian has structured and raised in excess of $100 million in equity and debt financings for numerous emerging and middle market
corporations, primarily in technology industries. His extensive contacts and deep relationships with venture capital firms, private equity firms, hedge funds and corporate investors,
enable him to effectively intermediate equity and debt corporate finance transactions.
Currently, Brian is focused on providing three forms of innovative financing solutions, that are helping companies obtain financing despite the Credit Crunch and the Recession.
First, he is structuring issuances of Top-Line Revenue Generation Rights Certificates (TIGRcubs™) under a license from Entrex, Inc., whereby companies with $5M+ in revenues, can
receive lump sum cash, in exchange for agreeing to pay the investor a percentage of their gross revenues. Second, he is arranging mezzanine and subordinated debt. Third, Brian
has connections with factors and accounts receivable financing sources, which enable a company to obtain cash quickly and improve cash flow.
Before joining CFA in 2008, Brian was Managing Director and General Counsel at Marino Capital, a Newport Beach, CA investment banking firm, where he focused on raising capital in
$10-$20 million private placements. He also helped form, and was Managing Director at, Hunter Wise Financial Group, an Irvine, CA investment banking firm. There, he specialized in
structuring corporate transactions, raising capital in private placements, and handling mergers and acquisitions, mainly for technology companies.
Brian’s financial services, which promote corporate growth and increase shareholder value, include forging strategic alliances, performing competitive market analysis, conducting
due diligence, and utilizing Virtual Deal Rooms to get deals done faster. His business development skills combine methodical outreach to target players necessary to complete a
transaction, with the art of making contact and building relationships. On larger transactions, he collaborates with other CFA Dealmakers in CFA’s Practice Groups, particularly CFA’s
Information Technology Practice Group, in which he is a member.
Prior to specializing in capital market transactions in Orange County, CA, Brian was a corporate and real estate attorney at a mid-sized law firm in San Diego. He has also served as
Vice President of Corporate Development and General Counsel at several technology companies.
