Roy Graham is the Managing Director of the San Antonio/Austin office. He has more than 30 years of dealmaking experience as a business owner, executive and investment banker. His
advisory services blend extensive operational experience with years of investment banking practice. Prior to joining CFA in 1997, Roy served in executive capacities with companies in
several industries including as: President of Petronet Corp., a Texas based oil and gas exploration company; Co-Founder and CFO of Photogenesis, Inc., a regional photo/video retailer
later sold to Ritz Camera; Controller of Ivory Coast Trading Co., a national specialty apparel manufacturer; and Division Controller of Church's Chicken, then a NYSE national fast food
chain.
In addition to managing CFA's San Antonio/Austin office, Roy
is a member of the firm's Energy Industry Practice Group, is a member of
the firm's Technology Group and has been actively involved on
CFA's national marketing committee.
As CFA principal, Roy has extensive experience and knowledge
that form the foundation for his success in the investment
banking industry. Representative engagements include the
following:
- Retained by a NYSE listed company to research and identify
acquisition targets, initiate dialogue, gather and analyze
information, assess valuation parameters and work to close
multiple transactions within an 18 month period.
- Engaged by various domestic and foreign middle market
companies to accomplish a sale or recapitalization of the
business, including the valuation, marketing document
preparation, prospective buyer/investor identification,
marketing, qualification, auction or limited auction
management, negotiation and overall process management.
- Contracted by a NASDAQ listed company to facilitate a
joint venture with a private company for the purpose of
establishing a supply-chain manufacturing/assembly operation
in conjunction with just-in-time delivery capability for the
company's main plant.
- Engaged by numerous private equity and private investment
firms to identify acquisition targets, initiate discussions,
gather and evaluate information and to work to accomplish
completed transactions.
- Retained by several foreign companies to identify domestic
acquisition targets meeting specific strategic criteria,
initiate communication, perform analytical work and
orchestrate a successful closing.
- Retained by a private investment firm to secure funding
for two of its companies.
With many years of experience in the Mergers &
Acquisitions field as an advisor to numerous middle market
buyers and sellers, Roy has been able to focus his broad
experience in general and financial management disciplines on
the issues faced by clients seeking investment banking services.
He draws on a multi-industry background and personal experience
to quickly grasp a full understanding of client's needs. Roy is
a skilled negotiator and an accomplished problem solver who
brings a proven set of creative and analytical skills to each
project. Roy earned his Bachelor of Business Administration
degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University.
