Deanna Cannon is co-director of CFA of Northern Michigan with over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, public accounting and corporate management. Her advisory services blend experience as a consultant with Plante & Moran LLP advising companies in multiple industries on matter of finance, tax and accounting with extensive operational, corporate finance and merger and acquisition experience while serving as an executive officer of Miller Exploration Company, a publicly traded oil and gas company.

Prior to joining CFA, Deanna advised companies through several business cycles and transactions including mergers, acquisitions and troubled work out situations. She successfully guided two companies through initial public offerings and a private stock offering where over $60 million in capital was raised. She also had extensive experience assisting companies in evaluating potential merger candidates and led a publicly traded exploration company and a private commercial bank through successful corporate mergers both resulting in significant stock appreciation for shareholders.

In addition to co-managing CFA's Northern Michigan office, Deanna is actively involved in the firm's Energy Industry Practice Group.

Since joining CFA in January 2005, Deanna has been involved in several engagements including the following—

  • Engaged by a locally owned middle market logistics company to accomplish a sale of the business including the valuation, marketing documentation preparation, prospective buyer identification, marketing, buyer qualification, negotiation, due diligence preparation assistance and overall process management.
  • Engaged by two private individuals to research and identify an acquisition target, initiate dialog, gather and analyze information, assess valuation of business, assist with due diligence process and negotiations and work toward a successful close of the transaction.
