Jay Carter established the CFA Charlotte
office (formerly Remington Capital) in 1996. He has over 20
years experience providing corporate finance, mergers and
acquisitions, and financial services to middle market companies
and their owners across many industries. Jay holds NASD Series
7, 24, 28 and 63 licenses and is a Registered Investment Advisor
(RIA).
Jay founded CFA Charlotte's predecessor
company, Remington Capital, in 1996 with the vision of creating
a boutique investment banking firm to deliver the highest level
of professional services to underserved segments of the market.
Since that time, he has led the firm's activities in the areas
of venture capital investment and portfolio management, mergers
and acquisitions, private placements and business advisory
services. He has served or currently serves on the boards of
directors HRAmerica, T-Square, Inc., Opera Carolina and
Corporate Finance Associates, Inc. He serves on CFA's Marketing
Committee. Prior to founding Remington Capital, Jay spent ten
years in commercial and private banking, most recently as Senior
Vice President at NationsBank (now Bank of America) in its
Charlotte, North Carolina corporate headquarters. Jay is a
graduate of the University of Colorado with a B.S. Degree in
Finance.
