Peter is a seasoned finance professional with 25 years of
expertise in corporate finance, accounting, and operational
management. He is a persuasive and collaborative leader,
acknowledged for his proven interpersonal and team building
skills. Peter's clients value his strong analytical and critical
strategic thinking abilities.
Peter joined CFA in 2004, three years after successfully
launching his own corporate finance advisory firm with CFA
Portland Managing Director Peter Moore. In 2001, Peter
transitioned to a transactional role after a successful
corporate finance career. Since 2001 Peter's professional focus
has been on structuring corporate and commercial real estate
financing transactions in a variety of industries. Peter brings
creativity and tenacity to every client he serves, seeking to
secure to the highest value for his client in whatever the
context.
Prior to 2001, Peter served in senior financial management
capacities at two Fortune 500 financial services companies:
UnumProvident Corporation and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
During his twelve years in the financial services industry Peter
held a number of roles, including financial planner, controller,
and treasurer. In these capacities he participated in a number
of strategic acquisitions as a critical member of the
acquisition financial team.
Peter's experience includes managing complex organizational
structures and systems in finance, accounting, treasury, and
investment functions. Peter has worked extensively with other
financial services companies, venture capital firms and
healthcare organizations, as well as many small and mid-sized
companies.
Prior to 1990, Mr. Ventre worked for eight years within the
audit practice and Ernst and Young, assisting a broad range of
clients on financial matters.
Peter is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He graduated cum
laude from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and holds
a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a
minor concentration in German.
