Peter Moore is the Managing Director of the Portland, Maine,
Corporate Finance Associates office. His career spans over 30
years of business experience including 18 years as a corporate
banker involving positions with Chemical Bank, New York (now
part of J.P. Morgan Chase), several predecessors of Bank of
America , the last as a Senior Vice President-Commercial Banking
of Fleet Bank. Entrepreneurial finance, middle market company
funding assignments and business growth strategies has been
Peter's primary focus for the last 13 years. This includes
extensive experience working with institutional and private
capital sources, structuring financing and building long lasting
relationships for clients and capital providers alike.
Peter's industry experience is extensive and includes, among
others, working with telecommunications, cellular phone, radio
and television, electronics, hospitals, health care
administration, nursing homes, heavy manufacturing, ship
building, boat manufacturing, specialty metal products
manufacturing, furniture and wood products manufacturers, food
wholesalers and processors, restaurants, retailing, agriculture,
lumber mills, concrete products industry, aquaculture, aviation
and avionics, real estate development, project financing,
professional service firms, specialty laboratories, and much
more.
He currently divides his time between financing for expansion
stage growth companies, established manufacturing and
distribution firms, real estate project finance clients, and M &
A transactions through out New England.
Peter Moore is also the Chairman and Co-founder of the Maine
Investment Exchange (MIX) a volunteer organization serving the
entrepreneurial marketplace by providing venture capital forums
where promising entrepreneurs present their business
propositions to interested private investors and venture
capitalists. The idea is to provide a marketplace for risk
capital. Founded in December 1996, MIX has held 22 venture
capital forums and showcased over 150 companies to more than
2500 investor attendees.
Peter's strengths are in solving complex financing problems,
understanding the reality of the capital marketplace, knowing
how to size up and structure capital requirements and finding
and closing on appropriate sources for each deal. Peter is
equally comfortable in the corporate finance arena as wells as
the commercial real estate capital arena. His network of
contacts and funding sources is extensive and equally balanced
in both of those areas.
Peter has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of
Southern Maine, and visiting lecturer at Boston College the
University of Maine, Southern Maine Community College teaching
various business finance courses. He is a frequent speaker on
business issues and business financing topics, and maintains an
active participation with the following industry and
entrepreneurial organizations; MIT Enterprise Forum, Technology
Capital Network of MIT, Maine Software Developers Association,
Maine Chamber of Commerce, Hydrogen Energy Center, Association
for Corporate Growth-Boston, Maine Real Estate Developers
Association and the Commercial Finance Association.
In 1997 Peter received the prestigious Navigator Award from
the Maine Chamber of Commerce as the Entrepreneur of the Year,
for his service to the business community in providing greater
access to business capital sources.
Peter is a member of the Executive Board of the Pine Tree
Council, Boy Scouts of America, an active member of the
Association for Corporate Growth; an Advisory Board Member of
Partners in Ending Hunger, Chairman of the CFA Marketing
Committee and a member of the CFA Executive Board.
Peter is a 1975 graduate of St. Michael's College, Winooski,
VT. He has completed graduate studies at Pace University, New
York and The University of Southern Maine, Portland, Maine.
Peter is a voracious reader, enjoys heli-skiing, snow
shoeing, golf, boating, forestry, travel and hiking.
