Pat Powell has added his considerable business experience to the practice of middle market mergers and acquisitions. He joined CFA in 2007 as a partner in the Lexington, Kentucky office. In addition to being a skillful M&A intermediary, Pat formerly managed state economic development contracts for the University of Kentucky and Murray State University as the Director of the Innovation & Commercialization Center (ICC). In his former economic development role in Lexington, from mid 2008 to December 2010, dozens of client companies were assisted.  Most of these companies were technology-related startups ranging from software / IT to Life Science companies.
 
Mr. Powell is also a stakeholder and board member in The Powell Land Company, which holds real estate and mineral rights in Kentucky and Tennessee. His career includes executive experience in industrial minerals with Old Hickory Clay Co. and Mid-South Construction Co., Inc., both headquartered in Kentucky. During his career in the industrial minerals industry (1983-2002), his experiences range from programming and system analysis to financial management to sales and marketing management. Pat and his wife, Betsy, have one child and one son-in-law and live in Lexington, Kentucky.
